June 6 - Orders for 6th Corps

Very little that was sent to Lobau appears in the archives, or has otherwise been found.

Soult’s drafts include the following:

June 6 Soult to Lobau Draft 2

In Soult’s Movement des Troupes, #252, the letter to Lobau is recorded as translated below:

Notification that the 1st Corps of the Armée du Nord is receiving the order to concentrate towards the 13th of this month below Valenciennes, the 2nd, at the same time, below Maubeuge and the 3rd between Mariembourg and Chimay. Upon its arrival in Avesnes, it must keep the 6th Corps well concentrated and in the case that the Imperial Guard should also arrive on the 13th in Avesnes, it will establish itself in front of this plain in order to have an establishment behind at its disposition. If prior to the 13th it does not receive an order to the contrary, it will be joined between Avesnes and Maubeuge by General Teste, with his Division that will have been gathered in Arras on the evening of the 11th.
